Minutes from Meeting Jan 8th, 2008
Present: Dot Pruess, Kathy Holguin, Makeba Lewis, Mike Wilson, Kevin Rowley, Robert Kauff, Oscar Lopez, Chet Vronka, Bill Edwards, Jason Smith
Treasury Report: Checkbook, Reciepts for 2007 were handed over to C het Vronka. Motion was made by Oscar Lopez and seconded by Kathy Holguin.
New Business: None
Goals for 2008:
Benefits committee is working on sick leave amount received and amount you can sell back. Also getting employees Health care coverage after retirement paid for by the city.
Recognition for David Kohler for fund raising. (Thank You very much Kohler you have done a fantastic job and always came through when needed.)
Goals: Oscar Lopez wants use to reach out to the community more. Lets do more volunteer work for the entire city. 1) Let’s seek different programs, Care Centers, Schools etc. 2) Let’s check on adopting part of the trail at the lake Pflugerville.
Mara Kauff will followup on News 8 Austin story about a foster child getting APD tour.
Re-tabled: Talk about shift reps for membership drives. 1) Post active members on the board.
Chet Vronka made a motion to have board member or members meet with each shift rep in regards to PPA membership. ? Who second the motion or if all were in favor.
Fund Raisers: 1) Golf Tournament: Held at Shadow Glen, date: Sat June 1st, 2008
2) Dunking Booth: Suggestion was made to get schedule out before the off duty schedules go up.
3) Bike Rodeo: Pictures of kids on the PD motorcycles, for donations etc
4) Middle School Dances:
Makeba Lewis made a motion for kid pics on motorcycles at the Bike Rodeo and Dot Pruess second the motion. All were in favor.
Past donations to Fitness Challenge: Kathy Holguin
Need to locate minutes. Tabled: T-shirt discussion for Fitness Challenge Excess shift and people that did not get one.
Jason Smith made the motion that $350.00 from PPA fund pays for the cost of the fitness t-shirts and the money that was spent for the t-shirts will be split up between the winners. Makeba Lewis second the motion
Motion was made to adjourn by Chet Vronka and Mike Wilson second the motion.
