As of June 30, 2007 the balance showed $7,487.05. This balance also includes the donations made toward the fitness challenge. The 2007 scholarship has also not been paid. Randy Glasgow made motion to accept and 2nd Judy Allen. All were in favor and non opposed.
Golf tournament:
The golf tournament was a success. This year our profit was $2875.24. Forest Creek showed us a lot of hospitality and we are going to look at them again for next year’s tournament.
Candidate Forum:
The candidate forum held in April was also a success. There were some very interesting questions asked of all the candidates and we were able to gain some insight in where the candidates stood on issues that would affect the members of the association.
Member status:
28 paid members and 6 associate members.
Survey Committee:
Goal setters needed that can consult with the officers and see what the needs are in regards to setting the PPA goals for the 2007 year.
Benefits Committee: Judy Allen gave update on items that this committee will meet with the city manager on. Increase longevity pay from $5 a month to $7 a month and increasing sick leave earning and receiving a portion of the sick upon retirement.
New Busn: The Lt. from the Hendrickson Dance Team asked if the PPA could sponsor. David Kohler made a motion to accept a $250.00 donations and Kathy Holguin 2nd the motion. The PPA logo will be placed in the Teams t-shirts.
Makeba Lewis inquired if there was going to be any type of recognition for contestants of the Fitness Program. There was a suggestion that the contestants receive a t-shirt with the sponsors on the back. Where we stand with the fitness challenge will be discussed at the next meeting.
Concern was mentioned in regards to officers not getting overtime when they take sick during any part of the month; this is seen as being penalized when taking leave.
Concern was also mentioned in regards to the city advertising for officers with a $2,000 to $3,000 difference in starting pay.
Motion to adjourn by Judy Allen, 2nd by Judy Allen.
Meeting adjourned at 7:41pm
